Ho chi minh harbor in Vietnam welcomes largest ship ever!!

  



Ho chi minh city - on the afternoon of March 15, a 40,000-ton Morotai container ship with a length of 222 meters from CMA CGM arrived at ho chi minh city's sp-itc international container port, sindh maritime net reported, citing Vietnam's yonhap news agency. It is the largest cargo ship the port has ever seen.

Nguyen van thien, chairman of the board of directors of sp-itc international trade and transport corporation, said this is the first time that sp-itc international container port welcomes ships directly from the port to Australia. Recently, the sp-itc international container port was the first port that the ministry of finance of Vietnam allowed to pilot and successfully apply the electronic customs system and automatic customs clearance of imports and exports of goods. In the future, spitc international container ports will put into use automatic search and electronic billing system to help customers inquire about the status of goods. In addition, in 2019, sp-itc international container ports will invest in the expansion of terminals, container yards, technical infrastructure, etc.




 

The arrival of the largest container ship at the sp-itc international container port is a great success for the port, which helps businesses save money on cargo transportation and handling costs, and improves Vietnam's competitiveness, said nguyen chun chuang, director general of the maritime department of Vietnam's ministry of transport, at a welcoming ceremony for the arrival of the Morotai container ship at the sp-itc international container port. The sp-itc international container port, which has been in operation since September 2016, is the first privately funded container port in ho chi minh city. So far, more than 1,000 ships have arrived safely, contributing to the development of Vietnam's maritime industry.


Ding yusheng, director of the ho chi minh city customs bureau, also said the agency will create convenient conditions for companies to go through customs procedures. By 2019, ho chi minh city will cut customs clearance times by 79 percent, while stepping up efforts to fight smuggling and trade fraud to level the playing field for businesses.
